Protecting the NHS In Glasgow
Using FenceSafe to keep the NHS Secure
With the NHS facing its biggest call to arms outside of war time, no one can say that the COVID-19 crisis is business as usual. These extraordinary events have called on companies across the UK to adapt at lightening pace to support the front-line organisations and new projects. One of these is the NHS Scotland Louisa Jordan temporary COVID-19 hospital in Glasgow.
Announced by the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon on the 3rd April 2020, the soon to be 300-bed-capacity hospital is being built in the Scottish Events Campus (SEC) in Glasgow. Designed to help safe-guard Scotland’s NHS during the COVID-19 crisis, the facility can be upgraded to a total of 1,000 beds if required.
One of the key areas at the start of the project was a requirement for a temporary perimeter that would offer the same security as a permanent one.
With millions of pounds worth of medical equipment and supplies due to be delivered to the site, along with the need to create a safe working zone for the contractors on site the normally open perimeter needed a rapid upgrade.
FenceSafe Hire launched a new initiative to support organisations such as NHS Scotland with their physical security packages. The COVID-19 Rapid Response Physical Security Team (RRPST) brought together a number of installers from the FIN Installers.
LIVE Trakway, a division of A-Plant (Sunbelt Rental), a member of FenceSafe Hires FIN deployed with over 600m of FenceSafe Temporary Fencing and Gate system to the site in Scotland. They were able to deploy the entire stock within 24hrs to establish the new temporary perimeter with gated access.
